Piper PA-32R-301 Saratoga SP

The Piper PA-32R-301, also known as the Saratoga SP, is a versatile light aircraft that is well-regarded for its performance and comfort. Introduced in the 1970s, this six-seat, low-wing plane is powered by a Lycoming IO-540-U4B5 engine, which provides a maximum takeoff power of 160 horsepower. The aircraft is designed for both novice and experienced pilots, featuring stable flight characteristics and a user-friendly cockpit layout. Its spacious cabin allows for comfortable travel, making it suitable for family flying or business trips. With a cruising speed of around 160 knots and a range of approximately 800 nautical miles, the PA-32R-301 is capable of covering significant distances at a reasonable pace.

In addition to its performance features, the Piper PA-32R-301 is known for its reliability and relatively easy maintenance. The aircraft's robust design includes a metal structure and a fixed landing gear, which simplifies inspections and upkeep compared to retractable gear models. The PA-32R-301 is often used in various aviation roles, including personal flying, flight training, and even air taxi services. Its combination of practicality, comfort, and performance has made it a popular choice among general aviation enthusiasts and continues to hold a place in the hearts of many pilots even decades after its introduction.

This Piper PA-32R-301 Saratoga was forced to land in a field that was recently harvested, causing it to hit some tree stumps along the way. The interior and most of the aircraft is in good shape and we will recover a long list of Saratoga parts from this disassembly, such as...
