New in the Aircraft Salvage Hangar - August 29th, 2023

Posted by BAS | Aircraft Salvage Experts on Aug 29th 2023

This week's batch of salvage aircraft is quite interesting. And we have packed the hangar this week to catch up on some of our customer's needs for in-demand parts. With the M600 and the Aerostar taking up a ton of time over the past few weeks, it feels good to get back in our rhythm and see the boys working on such a strange variety of airplanes.

In the salvage hangar this week we have...an interesting dual-engine Cessna T337G, a Beechcraft C23, a Maule MX-7-160, a cute little Cessna 150J, and the big boy...a Piper PA-31T Cheyenne! Engines, avionics, landing gear, control surfaces, wings, seats, yokes, insturments, indicators, ailerons, verticals, horizontals, lights of all shapes and sizes, and so much is about to hit our online inventory. If you see something you need, get in touch fast.

For some reason, YouTube inverted part of our video. This is a strange phenomenon, and we're working on it.

For now, enjoy the upside down Cheyenne clip ;)

Cessna T337G Super Skymaster

This airplane is as odd-looking as it is impressive. 352 of the T337G models were built with Continental IO-360-G engines in a push-pull configuration. The airplane has two vertical stabilizers on twin booms that extend aft. The fuselage is described as "pod style" but looks to be fairly roomy.

The first Skymaster flew in 1961 and had fixed landing gear. This version of the Skymaster was introduced in 1965 and was larger, more powerful, and came with retractable landing gear and a dorsal air scoop for the rear engine. This 337G model was introduced after a long line of upgrades and updates and saw more production than any other individual 337 model, except for the 337M that was produced for the military.

This particular airplane was all but abandoned by its owner and sat in a hangar for many years. It has no known damage history and original Cessna radios! Let us know what you need from this very unique aircraft, and we will get moving on it!

Beechcraft Sundowner C23

Part of the Beechcraft Musketeer family of airplanes, the 180-hp Sundowner was first certified in February of 1970 and was also certified in the aerobatic category.

This little fella was forced to land hard due to turbulence when flying in the mountains of Utah. The rough landing did involve a prop strike, and there was some damage to the wings when it was buried in the snow. It does have some nice equipment, including...

Maule MX-7-160 Sportplane

After landing, the Maule hit a snowbank on the runway and landed upside down. The rest is history.

The MX7-160 is an M-6 fuselage with M-5 wings, according to Wikipedia. The Maul M7 series has been in production since 1980, with a wide assortment of variants throughout the decades. It has a Lycoming O-320-B2D engine with a Sensenich prop that has been prop struck. We do have the logbooks for this aircraft as well.

Calling all of those Maule pilots out there...here's your chance, let us know what you need and we'll get those wrenches turning!

Cessna 150J

The 150J model debuted in 1969 with an updated instrument panel that adopted the "basic-T" arrangement that became the standard in all 150 models. The 150J also saw the introduction of rocker-style switches, replacing the pull types used prior. The J model was also the first model to get a key-operated starter. 1,714 J models were built by Cessna, with another 140 F150J models built by Reims in France.

Did you know the Cessna 150 model is the fifth most-produced aircraft ever? Over 23,000 have been produced to date. In 2007, the Cessna 162 Skycatcher became the successor of the 150 model.

We have the logbooks and bill of sale for this aircraft. Let us know what you need! We've got...
