Aircraft Salvage Hangar

December 12, 2022

This week in the aircraft salvage hangar we're working on an ever-popular Robinson R44 helicopter, a Mooney M20C, and a Cessna 152. It's a great aircraft salvage week at BAS with some great inventory that will keep a whole host of pilots in the air and out of the repair shop...plus these units will save some pilots many many thousands of dollars on parts and components! Let's dig in...

Don't forget, most of the parts we sell come with our industry leading 90-day money back guarantee. Learn more about our parts guarantee  here, or by speaking with one of our aircraft salvage experts at 970-313-4823.

If you see something of interest, get in touch. We are on standby to get you the parts you need fast, and most come with FREE 2-day shipping. Our team of experts is available to you Monday - Friday 7:30 am to 4:00 pm Mountain Time.

Robinson R44 II

This R44 had an "uh oh" moment so here it is in our salvage hangar for disassembly. It has a great list of avionics and comes with a wide range of salvageable parts and components, especially interior parts. Robinson helicopter parts, and especially R44 parts and components do not sit in our inventory very long. In fact, we have a waiting list for a large number of R44 parts. Let us know what  you need form this unit quickly and we'll get it on the way fast.

This R44 II has a Lycoming IO-540-AE1A5 engine and we have the logbooks for this helicopter on-hand.

The avionics list includes:

  • Bendix/King KY-196A VHF Com
  • Garmin GNS-430 GPS/Nav/Com
  • Garmin GTX-330 Transponder
  • and more

The Robinson R44 II is a wildly popular 4-seat helicopter the world over, having been in production since 1992. In fact, it has been the worlds best selling general aviation helicopter since 1999 with over 5,000 delivered since 2001.

1965 Mooney M20C

This good-looking Mooney M20C comes to us after a wheels-up landing. Mooney parts are SO expensive...this good looking unit right here is going to yield a huge number of highly desirable and very usable parts and components that will keep a lot of other Mooney owners fat and happy. The prop did strike the runway during landing, so there's that. Otherwise this unit is great inventory and we are already into the disassembly process.

According to  Wikipedia, the Mooney M20 was the 20th design from Al Mooney and the most popular of his general aviation designs. Also, it's quite interesting to note that this M20 design has been produced in a wide range of variations dating back to the wooden-wing model in 1955, that's over 60 years of production. More than 11,000 M20 models have been produced in that time frame! The M20C was a huge improvement over the M20B, the prior version produced in the early 1960's. Read up on the very interesting history of this highly popular aircraft.

This unit comes to us with it's Lycoming IO-360-A1D engine and long list of avionics:

  • Garmin 430W
  • Garmin 250XL
  • Narco NAV-122 VOR/ILS Receiver
  • Garmin 345 ADS-B In/Out - SOLD!
  • Bendix King KMA24H Audio Panel
  • And more

We have the log books on hand for this aircraft

Cessna 152

We also have a blast-from-the-past Cessna 152 in the hangar for some disassembly this week. Large parts of this aircraft are already spoken for, but we will still get a lot of parts and components that will be available in our store as soon as possible. This aircraft is a special case, we don't have the log-books. If you need more info, or you need parts for your 152, call our team of experts at 970-313-4823 and we can help you solve that problem.

Has anyone noticed how expensive Cessna parts have gotten lately? Not sure what's up with that, but here at BAS we are working diligently to help our customers save money, stay safe, and spend more time flying.

The Cessna 152 was first delivered in 1977 as a1978 model, and most were built in the Wichita, Kansas Cessna factory. Some 152 models were built in France by Reims Aviation and have the model designation F152 or FA152.

Learn more about the interesting history of the 152 on its  Wikipedia page.
