BAS Part Sales, LLC (“BAS,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) sells aircraft parts and related products to owners, operators, maintenance facilities, and other customers. This policy explains how we handle personal information when you visit our store, create an account, request a quote, place an order, contact us, or use our services. Our online store is hosted by Shopify.
“Personal information” means information that identifies you or can reasonably be linked to you. It does not include information that has been made anonymous or de-identified so that it cannot reasonably be linked to you. The information we handle depends on how you interact with BAS.
1. Information we collect
- Contact and account details: Name, business name, email address, phone number, billing and shipping addresses, account details, and preferences you provide.
- Orders and transactions: Products viewed or purchased, cart activity, quotes, order and invoice history, returns, shipping details, payment method, and payment confirmation.
- Payments: Shopify and our payment providers collect and process the information needed to complete your payment. BAS does not directly store complete payment card numbers.
- Communications: Information you share in calls, emails, forms, support requests, warranty or return requests, and other correspondence.
- Device and website activity: IP address, browser and device details, identifiers, pages viewed, and information about how you interact with the store. Cookies and similar technologies may collect some of this information.
2. Where information comes from
We receive information directly from you, automatically when you use our website, and from providers involved in payments, fraud prevention, shipping, analytics, and customer service. We may also receive information from business customers or other people who place orders or submit inquiries on your behalf.
3. How BAS uses information
We use personal information to process payments and orders; provide quotes, customer support, shipping, returns, and warranty service; manage accounts and business relationships; maintain records; improve and secure our website and operations; detect fraud; meet legal obligations; and send relevant BAS communications. You can unsubscribe from promotional emails using the link in those emails. We may still send order, account, and other necessary service messages.
4. Fraud prevention
We use fraud screening and risk analysis to help prevent unauthorized transactions. This may involve Shopify, payment providers, and fraud prevention providers such as NoFraud when used. An order flagged for review may require additional verification or may be delayed or declined.
5. Advertising and Shopify Network Intelligence
BAS advertises its products and services, but does not use its customer lists, purchase records, website browsing history, or analytics data to build targeted advertising audiences or customer-specific remarketing campaigns. We do not use Google remarketing. We may send BAS marketing emails to recipients in accordance with their communication preferences.
We have enabled Shopify Network Intelligence. Shopify can use information from interactions with our store together with information from interactions with Shopify and other merchants to provide enhanced services. Depending on the service, these may involve personalization, fraud prevention, analytics, store improvements, or advertising based on activity across merchants. Certain uses can be considered “sharing” or “targeted advertising” under some privacy laws, even though BAS does not run its own customer-specific retargeting campaigns.
BAS does not sell personal information for monetary compensation or operate a business model based on monetizing customer information. The legal meaning of a “sale” or “sharing” can extend beyond a payment for data. If you have an applicable right to opt out of Shopify's advertising-related use or other data sharing, visit our data sharing opt-out page. You can also learn about Shopify's own processing and choices through the Shopify Privacy Portal.
6. Cookies and analytics
Our store and service providers use cookies and similar technologies to operate the site and checkout, remember preferences, protect transactions, and understand website traffic and performance. Shopify's enhanced services may also use data collected through these technologies, subject to applicable consent and privacy choices. You can manage cookies through your browser and, where available, through our store's cookie preferences. Blocking essential cookies may affect store functions. We do not treat ordinary browser “Do Not Track” signals as opt-out requests; Global Privacy Control is addressed below.
7. When we disclose information
We disclose information when needed to operate our business, including to Shopify, payment processors, fraud prevention providers, shipping carriers and logistics providers, email service providers such as Mailchimp, analytics and technology providers, and professional advisers. We may also disclose information at your direction, to comply with law or valid legal process, to protect rights and security, or in connection with a sale or transfer of business assets. These parties receive information relevant to their roles and may process it under their own applicable terms and privacy notices.
8. Shopify's role
Shopify hosts our store and processes information when you visit or buy from us. Information you submit through the store is transmitted to Shopify and may be shared with providers located in other countries. Because Shopify Network Intelligence is enabled, Shopify may also process information about your interactions with our store alongside your interactions with Shopify and other merchants to provide enhanced services. Shopify is responsible for responding to requests about certain processing it performs for its own enhanced services. See the Shopify Consumer Privacy Policy and Shopify Privacy Portal for details and available choices.
9. Retention and security
We keep information as long as reasonably necessary to serve customers, maintain accounts and transaction records, meet accounting and legal requirements, resolve disputes, and protect our rights. The period depends on the type of record and why we hold it. We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards, but no method of storage or transmission is completely secure.
10. Your privacy rights and choices
Depending on where you live and applicable law, you may be able to request access to or a copy of your personal information, correction, deletion, or portability; object to or restrict certain processing; or withdraw consent when processing depends on consent. You may also have a right to opt out of a sale, sharing, or targeted advertising as those terms are defined by applicable law. These rights have exceptions, including for records we must retain. Contact BAS using the details below to make a request. We may verify your identity or an authorized agent's authority before responding. We will not discriminate against you for exercising an applicable privacy right.
For advertising-related choices connected to our store, use our data sharing opt-out page. For choices about Shopify's processing for its enhanced services, use the Shopify Privacy Portal. You can also unsubscribe from BAS promotional emails through the link in each email.
11. Global Privacy Control
Where our Shopify data sharing opt-out applies, Shopify recognizes the Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal as an opt-out for the browser and device sending it. Where Shopify can associate that signal with a Shopify account, Shopify may also apply the choice to that account. Learn more at globalprivacycontrol.org. Other browser “Do Not Track” signals are not treated the same way.
12. Children
Our services are intended for adults and business customers, not children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of majority where they live. If you believe a child has provided personal information to BAS, contact us so we can review and address the request.
13. International processing and other websites
Shopify and other providers may process or store information outside the country where you live. When you follow a link to a third-party website, that website's privacy practices apply; please review its policy before providing information.
14. Questions, complaints, and appeals
Contact us with questions or concerns about this policy or our handling of your information. Where applicable law gives you a right to appeal a privacy request decision, you may submit an appeal through the contact information below. You may also have the right to contact a privacy or data protection authority.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our practices, services, or legal requirements change. We will post the updated policy with a revised date and provide additional notice when required.
