New In The Aircraft Salvage Hangar - December 19, 2022

Posted by BAS | Aircraft Salvage Experts on Dec 20th 2022

This week's batch of salvage aircraft is quite interesting. First, that Ayres Thrush is just awesome. It's a really big aircraft with a unique look and a lot of unique parts and components. There's a Piper PA28 that got into a fist fight with a hangar, and got KO'd quick! And a Cessna 182F that lost power and flipped over upon landing in a field. No one was hurt in any of these wrecks, thankfully!

The mechanic team is busy at work already dismantling these aircraft. If you see something you need, get in touch quick so we can get shipping arranged around the holidays and get your parts to you quickly and safely - Call 970-313-4823.

And don't forget nearly everything we sell comes with our industry leading 90-day money back guarantee and FREE 2-day shipping on thousands of parts...so let's dive right in...

Ayres Thrush

This is a very cool airplane that has been in production since 1966, making it one of the most successful agricultural aircraft of all time.

The Ayres pilot hit something mid-air that caused a forced landing. We're still evaluating the engine, but the airframe is in pretty good shape. This salvaged aircraft will yield a significant number of parts that will live to fly another day for sure!

The Thrush was first flown in 1959 and has been manufactured by several different airplane makers over the years...but in continuous production the whole time. The Thrush has been spraying crops in countries all over the world for many decades and continues to be one of the most successful agriculture aircraft ever made.

Ayers even developed a version for the US Department of State as an anti-narcotics crop-spraying Turbo-Thrush with an armored cockpit and engine. The US government bought nine of these armored turbo versions in the 1980's.

We do have the log books and bill of sale for this aircraft and it's got a very interesting list of equipment and upgrades...

Some of the avionics in this aircraft are already sold. But there is a laundry list of great equipment, core components, primo agriculture equipment, and engine upgrades coming off of this airplane. The Hartzel prop is not struck and in great condition. The winglets are in great shape. We will get a more complete list of parts from the Thrush published quickly.

Or, just call us if you are in need. Our team of experts is ready to help you get back in the air ASAP - 970-313-4823

The  Wikipedia page for the Thrush is quite interesting. You should give it a quick read to learn more about the history of this unique aircraft.

Piper PA28 Cherokee Pathfinder

The Piper PA28 is a common general aviation airplane, competing with the Cessna 172 as a great aircraft for personal use or as an air taxi. Tried and true, the Piper PA28 has been in production since 1960 with over 32K built to date.

This particular PA28 is a 235 Cherokee Pathfinder with fixed landing gear and four seats. The PA28-235 comes with one of several Lycoming engine choices. The PA28-235's built after 1962 are 5 inches longer with a wider wing span and horizontal tail than it's predecessor. The newer version also has a higher gross weight and a few other minor improvements.

This PA28-235 in our salvage hangar decided to go at with the hangar, and the hangar won. Now, how did the hangar tear up the airplane this bad? Well, some stories are left untold. Even though this aircraft looks completely demolished our team of aircraft salvage experts will absolutely collect a huge number of used airplane parts that will save the next PA28-235 owner a bucket full of money when it comes time to upgrade and repair. Don't let it's looks fool you, many many parts from this PA28 will live on to fly another day.

We do have the log books and bill of sale for this aircraft.

Check out the  Wikipedia page for more details. We will get some more pictures published on this aircraft as soon as possible.

Cessna 182F Skylane

This poor guy had a power loss, forced to land, hit a fence, and flipped over...What a day!

On this 182 Skylane the nose gear looks to be in good shape, the interior is great and the yokes looks nice too.

It's got a great avionics list such as:

  • AMR-350
  • Apollo Fly Buddy GPS
  • Narco MK 12D Nav / Com
  • PM2000
  • AMR 251/351
  • KN-64
  • AT-50A
  • PM-2000
  • 546E-ADF

It comes with a Continental O-470-R engine. We do have the log books and bill of sale for this aircraft.

This 4-seat single engine airplane is built in Wichita, KS by Cessna and is the second most popular model after the Cessna 172. It was first introduced in 1956 and became the "Skylane" with the 182A version in 1957. The F designation in the 182F model name makes this aircraft a 1962 model.

We will get some more images online for this salvage unit as soon as possible. If you see something you need, call our team of experts at 970-313-4823 and we will get right on it for you.
