New In The Aircraft Salvage Hangar - May 6, 2024

Posted by Clinton McJenkin on May 6th 2024

This week, the BAS Aircraft Salvage Hangar is all Cessna. We have a great run of Cessna aircraft, including an 182Q Skylane, a 210B Centurion, and a 414. Dave and The Mechanics are in full swing working on disassembly, and we already have some outstanding Garmin and Bendix avionics removed and ready for sale—but you have to call to get ahead of the crowd and snag that Garmin G5 or 430W before it's gone. We will have a long laundry list of outstanding parts and components up on the store from these aircraft very soon.

Cessna 210B Centurion

The Cessna 210B, a variant of the popular Cessna 210 Centurion series, is a high-wing, single-engine aircraft renowned for its versatility and performance. Featuring a Continental IO-470 engine with around 260 horsepower, the Cessna 210B is capable of cruising at speeds up to 170 knots with a range of approximately 800 nautical miles. Its six-seat capacity, including the pilot, offers ample room for passengers and cargo, making it a favored choice for both personal and commercial use. With a reputation for responsive handling, stable flight characteristics, and a comfortable cabin environment, the Cessna 210B continues to be a reliable and enduring aircraft in the general aviation industry.

This particular Cessna Centurion comes to us after a gear up landing. We expect to recover a wide range of usable Cessna 210 parts, and some outstanding avionics from Garmin and Bendix, such as...

Cessna 182Q Skylane

The Cessna 182Q Skylane is renowned for its excellent blend of utility, performance, and reliability. Introduced in 1977, this model features a powerful Lycoming O-540 engine producing 235 horsepower, facilitating superior climb rates and enhanced overall performance. The 182Q distinguishes itself with an increased maximum takeoff weight, allowing for greater payload capacity, which is highly advantageous for transporting more passengers or cargo.

Comfort is another hallmark of the 182Q, with a spacious and adaptable cabin that accommodates longer flights and various seating or cargo configurations. Many of these aircraft have been updated with modern avionics, including GPS navigation and advanced communication systems, though specifics vary by individual upgrades.

Its rugged build and ability to operate from shorter, more challenging runways make it incredibly versatile. Whether used for personal travel, flight training, or light cargo hauling, the Cessna 182Q maintains its popularity in the aviation community due to its reliability and ease of maintenance. This model's enduring appeal lies in its ability to offer a solid balance between comfort and operational capabilities, making it a preferred choice for a wide array of flying enthusiasts.

This Cessna Skylane landed short of the runway and hit a ditch pretty hard. We expect it to yield a great list of Cessna 182Q parts, such as...

Cessna 414

The Cessna 414 is a twin-engine light aircraft primarily used for private and business flying, introduced by Cessna in 1968. Designed as a smaller, more economical alternative to the company’s larger jets, the 414 stands out for its balance of performance and operating costs. It features two Continental TSIO-520 engines, each capable of producing about 310 horsepower, giving it a robust cruising speed of around 225 mph.

The aircraft typically accommodates up to 8 passengers, offering a comfortable and spacious cabin, which has been a significant selling point. The Cessna 414 also includes pressurization and air conditioning systems, enhancing passenger comfort at varying altitudes.

This 414 needed a little more work than the owner wanted to committ to in order to fly again, so it will make a great parts plane. It comes to BAS with some primo Garmin avionics, a complete interior, two non-prop struck engine, and much more, such as...
