Piper M600: The Rest of the Story
Posted by BAS | Aircraft Salvage Experts on Jun 6th 2023
There is a standard that comes with the industry leading tag on the BAS Part Sales brand. Part of that standard at BAS is innovation.
We aren’t comfortable with being stagnant. We don’t like to sit still.
That’s why we have the ONLY Piper M600 / SLS salvaged aircraft in the world…and we also have a project Piper M600 that comes with the parts needed to fix it.
What Makes The Piper M600 Special?
Piper introduced the Piper M600 in 2015 as a part of the M-Class of Piper aircraft. It was part of a trio of aircraft that were built upon upgrades from the design of the Piper Meridian.Today, the Piper M600 comes equipped with the latest in cutting edge avionics and flight controls.
The project we have for sale, as an example, is equipped with three Garmin GDU 1250W 12” displays, Aspen EFD, Garmin GFC 700 autopilot, two Garmin GTX 575 touchscreen cockpit management units, Garmin GTX 345R ADS-B In and Out, Garmin GTX 335R backup transponder, Garmin GDL 69A SXM satellite radio and weather, L3 WX-500 stormscope, FlightStream 510, Synthetic Vision and lots more.
The Piper M600 is also pure luxury with its diamond stitched leather seats and outstanding appointments in every corner of the cabin and cockpit.
The USB charging ports, cup holders, executive folding tables and reading lights provide convenience for the luxurious flier. And for those longer trips– the spacious luggage storage ensures you have room for your larger suitcases.
The details like folding seats, leather wrapped grab handles and yokes, mocha carpeting, carbon fiber accent panels, headliner bezel and tan accent panels provide for a lavish in-flight experience.
Luxury even extends to the safety features in this aircraft. AMSAFE Aviation Inflatable restraints for both the Pilot and Copilot make for peace of mind when flying.
This turboprop Piper M600 aircraft is the first to come standard with the Garmin HALO Autoland system and receive certification from the FAA.The HALO Safety System is revolutionary and comes with electronic stability and protection, auto-throttle, auto-landing and plenty more that you can learn about here.
In fact, the quality and scale of innovations in the M600 has created a huge demand problem. Piper can’t build the M600 fast enough to satisfy the demand, which makes spare parts hard to come by.
This innovative aircraft sells for around $3.6 million with the base package that includes the HALO Safety System.
That project Piper M600 aircraft that we have for sale? It’s priced significantly lower than that, and the price includes the parts needed to fix it.
We Saw The Opportunity
BAS is no stranger to Piper aircraft. We routinely disassemble Piper aircraft and sell Piper parts daily. The Piper M-Class is different.
Having been introduced only 8 years ago, and with the years-long waiting list for new buyers, parts for the M600 are hard to get. Many of the M600s flying today are falling out of warranty, which means Piper holds the key (aka parts) to plenty of repair needs. Now couple that huge demand for new Piper M600 aircraft and the time delay that comes with getting parts from the factory with the aircraft that will be needing out-of-warranty repairs and you’ve got a recipe that leaves your M600 stuck in the hangar for a while.
We knew the Piper M600 was a tough project airplane if parts weren’t easily available. So
we waited patiently.
Then the solution arrived. The first salvaged Piper M600 in the WORLD. The salvage M600 had a hard landing and a rough prop strike…but a beautiful tail section. Now it’s at our shop in Greeley and the tail from the salvage airplane is included in the sale of our project Piper M600 aircraft.
The tail sections from both M600s have been professionally removed. The project airplane is ready for repairs and all the needed parts are on standby. The salvage unit is in our disassembly hangar, sans the rear-end, and our team is ready to get to work. Very soon BAS Part Sales will be a high quality source for Piper M600/SLS airplane parts. We will get those parts listed on our industry-leading website as quickly as possible. But don’t expect them to last very long.
Putting this project together took a lot of coordination and effort from our leadership team. It’s an accomplishment we are proud of. A lot of long hours and hard work went into making this happen; not to mention the investment required to get both planes in our inventory simultaneously. At BAS we are committed to being the best in the business. This M600 project is another example of how deeply committed we are to the industry, and to our customers.
This Is Just The Beginning
We are reinventing the wheel… or should we say propeller? The world of salvaged aircraft is no longer about airplane boneyards and sawing off parts when the need arrives. BAS Part Sales is changing the game. As more modern aircraft fall out of warranty and we feed our motivation to innovate, expect to see more moves like this from BAS Part Sales.
