Piper PA-28R-201T Turbo Arrow IV Enters BAS Kansas City Disassembly

Piper PA-28R-201T Turbo Arrow IV Enters BAS Kansas City Disassembly

Posted by Clinton McJenkin on Jul 9th 2026

Another capable cross-country airplane has arrived in the BAS Kansas City shop, this time a Piper PA-28R-201T Turbo Arrow IV. Combining turbocharged performance with retractable gear and Piper's familiar Cherokee handling, the Turbo Arrow remains an active member of today's piston fleet. As disassembly gets underway, owners and maintenance shops can expect a growing inventory of traceable as-removed components, from Continental engine accessories and King avionics to landing gear, flight controls, and Turbo Arrow-specific airframe hardware.

Some airplanes earn their reputation by doing extraordinary things.

The Piper Turbo Arrow IV earned its reputation by making ordinary trips faster, farther, and more comfortable. It was built for owners who wanted to step beyond the fixed-gear Cherokee without stepping into the cost and complexity of a twin. Retractable landing gear, turbocharged performance, and predictable handling made it a serious traveling machine that still has a loyal following decades later.

Now another Turbo Arrow IV has entered the BAS Kansas City shop, where its next job is helping keep the rest of the fleet flying.

NEW ARRIVAL IN THE BAS KANSAS CITY HANGAR
Piper's Traveling Cherokee
KC Wrenches Turning, Piper Parts Moving
The PA-28 family hardly needs an introduction. Since the early 1960s it has become one of general aviation's most successful aircraft families, serving everyone from student pilots to serious cross-country travelers. The Arrow expanded that formula with retractable landing gear, while later Turbo Arrow variants added the altitude performance owners wanted for longer trips and higher terrain. The Turbo Arrow IV also introduced the distinctive T-tail configuration that set it apart visually while continuing the Arrow's mission as Piper's capable personal traveler.

It was never meant to be flashy.

It was meant to get there efficiently, carry real people with real baggage, and make long days in the cockpit a little shorter.

That assignment still matters today, which is exactly why good Turbo Arrow parts remain in demand.

A Working Airplane With One More Job To Do
This aircraft arrived at BAS after a forced landing brought its flying career to a close. That chapter is behind it.

The focus now shifts to the useful components that can continue supporting other Piper PA-28R-201T aircraft. With just over 2,097 hours total time, this Turbo Arrow brings a valuable mix of documented components, including a Continental TSIO-360-FB1B engine package, Hartzell three-blade propeller, King avionics, Garmin ADS-B equipment, Century autopilot components, and the specialized systems that make the Turbo Arrow IV unique within the Cherokee family.

As always, BAS will carefully document, photograph, identify, and catalog components as they move through the Kansas City shop and into inventory.

Piper PA-28R-201T:
Still Supporting The Fleet
The Turbo Arrow remains one of those airplanes that quietly keeps working. It continues carrying owners on business trips, weekend getaways, instrument training flights, and cross-country adventures without demanding attention every time it rolls onto the ramp.

That makes good replacement parts worth finding.

This aircraft may be done flying as one complete machine, but many of its best components still have important work ahead. As disassembly continues in the BAS Kansas City shop, those parts will begin making their way back into circulation, helping owners and maintenance shops keep the Piper Arrow fleet moving for years to come.
