New In The BAS Disassembly Hangar October 24th, 2025

It’s crunch time in the hangar. Our two Piper PA-31T Cheyennes - part of a fleet that’s been slowly working through our system - are next up for final disassembly. With a 16-hour deadline on the clock, our mechanics are rolling up their sleeves to finish strong and hit our end-of-year goals. A lot of these parts have already found new wings; now it’s time to complete the story.

With a 16-hour deadline on the clock, our mechanics are rolling up their sleeves to finish strong and hit our end-of-year goals. A lot of these parts have already found new wings; now it’s time to complete the story.

Our piston mechanics have been processing a monumental amount of fully stacked aircraft recently and we thought it was time to give them little break. So we decided to bring in just 2 aircraft this round that are already pretty picked through- Here's the catch, they have 16 hours to get these disassembled and clear out the shop for another round. Luckily, our tream is the best of the best and they already have a plan in place to make it happen.

Dave & The Mechanics are never afraid of a little challenge and they have confidence in their ability to keep up with our typical fast pace while still ensuring that we meet our starndard of precicion. They're tuned in, tools out, and wringing all of the value from these Piper PA-31T Cheyannes. These mechanics never miss a beat and we know that they will meet this goal seamlessly.

Piper PA-31T Cheyanne

The Piper PA-31T Cheyennes that arrived at our hangar have been a familiar sight for quite some time now. This fleet of twin-engine turboprop aircraft was retired from service, and we were fortunate enough to acquire the entire group. Each Cheyenne represents a piece of aviation history, combining classic Piper design with reliable Pratt & Whitney turboprop performance. Having the full fleet together has given us a unique opportunity to preserve and distribute valuable components to keep other Cheyennes flying strong.

Over the past several months, we’ve been moving these aircraft through our disassembly and parts recovery process as time and workload allowed. Each one has been carefully evaluated and stripped down by our experienced mechanics, ensuring that usable components are handled with care and precision. It’s been a slow but steady process, and the team has done an excellent job balancing this project with our ongoing flow of other aircraft coming through the hangar.

Now, we’re wrapping up the final two aircraft from the fleet this week. Even after years of service, these Cheyennes still have a lot of good parts left in them - avionics, landing gear, control surfaces, and more — that will soon be inspected, cleaned, and cataloged by our research and cleaning teams. Once complete, these components will be made available to support Cheyenne owners and operators worldwide, helping keep this dependable Piper turboprop flying for many years to come.

Here's what these birds have to offer:

• Landing gear, wheels, and brakes

• Hydraulic Power Pack

• Heater, blower motor, etc

• Electrical components, relays, solenoids, limit switches

• Cowl Flap motors

• Cowl, engine mount, induction box
