Wentworth Aircraft Inventory and People are now BAS Minnesota

Since then, one customer-focused idea has grown into a multi-state operation supporting everything from light aircraft to business jets. Now BAS is bringing that same disruptive approach back to NBAA-BACE 2026. See how far the operation has come, and why the competition is still trying to catch up.

A New Chapter for the Wentworth Team

The people you know are now BAS Minnesota, with the inventory, experience, relationships, and customer service you know backed by BAS Part Sales.

Over the last several days, there has understandably been a lot of conversation about Wentworth Aircraft, BAS Part Sales, and what is changing. We wanted to reach out directly and clear up some of the questions and rumors.

After more than 40 years in the aircraft parts business, Steve Wentworth has made the decision to retire.

As part of that transition, BAS Part Sales purchased Wentworth's aircraft parts inventory and other assets related to the parts business. Wentworth Aircraft has ceased operations, and we have hired the entire Wentworth team to continue that operation as BAS Minnesota.

The same people still answer the phone - Kevin, Jason, Brett, Dennis, Miriah, Ted, Bob, Fish, and the rest of the team are there and ready to help.

Steve spent more than four decades building something special, and we are honored to carry his life's work forward with the respect it deserves.

The new BAS Minnesota Leader Team spent the past week in Colorado going through orientation and onboarding with our Executive Teams, and now they are back at Crystal Lake Airport, ready to get to work.

You will probably still see Stever around the industry too. Aviation is in his blood. He just earned the right to enjoy a little more time with his family and grandkids.

So what does that actually mean for you?

In a lot of ways, things are going to look very familiar.

The same people you have worked with for years are still there. They are sitting at the same desks, answering the same phones, working from the same facility, and continuing to help the same customers they have built relationships with over decades.

The difference is that they are now part of BAS Part Sales.

That means the Wentworth team now has the resources, technology, inventory systems, e-commerce capabilities, shipping infrastructure, and support of the larger BAS organization behind them. Over time, we will be bringing the Minnesota operation onto BAS systems and processes, but we are being very deliberate about maintaining the relationships, experience, and aviation knowledge that made Wentworth successful for so many years.

They are still there, and they are ready to help you

You will begin seeing the BAS Minnesota name, BAS branding, and some new processes as we complete the transition. You will also start seeing Wentworth inventory become available through BASPartSales.com as we work through integrating a very large inventory into our systems.

We know transitions like this create questions, particularly when a company and a name have been part of the aviation community for as long as Wentworth has.

We also know there has been plenty of speculation about what was happening.

The simple answer is this:

Steve retired. The Wentworth team joined BAS. The parts are still here. The people are still here. And we are open for business.

We have a tremendous amount of respect for what Steve and his team built over the last four decades, and we are excited about the opportunity to carry that work forward with the same people who helped build it.
