New In The Aircraft Salvage Hangar - March 7, 2024

Posted by Clinton McJenkin on Mar 7th 2024

The disassembly shop is getting back into a more normal routine of rotating airplanes through the process. The Piper Archer inventory has been processed, and those parts are becoming available in our online store daily. So now the mechanic team is back to "normal" as we cycle in salvaged aircraft and start the surgical disassembly process.

Cessna 182R Skylane

This poor fella overshot the runway and hit a tree! The Cessna 182R is a four-seat airplane and this unit has the Continental O-470U-18B engine. The 182 was introduced in 1956  and is Cessna's second most popular model, behind the 172. The Cessna Skylane was in production until 2012, and then it was reintroduced in 2015.

This particular Cessna 182R Skylane will yield a huge number of parts and components. The mechanics have already started turning wrenches on this aircraft and our sales team is already making phone calls. This 182R is a 1982 model and we expect to recover high-demand components, such as...

• Continental O-470-U (SMOH: 1824)
• McCauley Propeller C2A34C204-C
• Nose Gear Assembly
• Stratus ESG
• Bendix KX 155
• Pilot, Co Pilot, and Rear Seat
• Cabin Doors
• Baggage Door
• Main and Nose Wheels
• RH & LH Main Gear Assembly
• Control Wheels
• Upper & Lower Cowling
• Engine Mount
• Rudder
• Horizontal Stabilizer
• RH Flap
• Vertical Stabilizer
• RH Wing
• Wing Tips
• Firewall

Cessna A188B Wagon

This Cessna A188B also struck a tree and was forced to land hard in a field. The 188 was Cessna's line of AG aircraft, produced from 1966 until 1983. We will update this article once the team has a chance to look over this aircraft thoroughly and get a solid list of recoverable components. The shortlist looks like...

• Continental IO-520-D Engine
• RH & LH Main Gear
• Satloc LiteStar II System
• Tail Spring
• Wing Struts
• Rudder
• Cabin Doors
• Seat
• Tail Stinger

Piper PA-23-250 Aztec

The Piper Aztec is the 250 hp version of the Apache, Piper's first twin-engine aircraft. The Piper Apache entered production in 1954 and 1,231 were built. The Piper PA-23-250 Aztec was introduced in 1959 as a more powerful version of the Apache with a five-seat configuration. In 1962, the Aztec B was introduced with a longer nose that contained a baggage compartment and a six-seat configuration.

The Piper PA-23-250 airplane in our shop is an Aztec B with an extended nose. It comes to us after a hard landing. The interior of this aircraft is "retro" with its original 1960s look and feel. This airplane is well-aged, like a fine wine. We will get a long list of high-demand Aztect parts from this aircraft. Get in touch if we can help you get back in the air.

Reach out and let us know how we can help you get back in the air. We can get the airplane parts you need out the door fast. 97% of the time, we will ship the same day you order, and on international orders, too - learn more.
