New In The BAS Turbine Hangar for December 5, 2025
Posted by Clinton McJenkin on Dec 5th 2025
We are excited to share that a Cessna Citation V has arrived in the BAS Part Sales hangar. This aircraft is part of the Model 560 series that Cessna produced from 1989 through the early 1990s. The Citation V earned its strong reputation through reliability, balanced performance, and thoughtful engineering. With more than 260 units built in this variant alone, it remains an important aircraft in the light jet market, and its components continue to support a large, active fleet.

New Arrival in the BAS Turbine Hangar: Cessna Citation V
The Citation V in the BAS Disassembly Hangar...
Ours landed belly up.... but they say broken things still have value, and we agree. Especially when the ‘broken thing’ is a whole airplane. Sure, it won’t be flying anytime soon, but inside? Gold. Not literal gold (we checked), but the kind of parts pilots cry happy tears over.
At BAS, we lovingly disassemble aircraft so every ding, dent, and ‘mysterious missing panel’ becomes a second chance for someone else’s project to finally leave the hangar.
The Citation V is powered by two Pratt and Whitney JT15D-5A turbofan engines. Each engine produces 2,900 pounds of thrust and helps the aircraft reach cruise speeds of roughly 425 knots along with a ceiling of 45,000 feet. For operators who maintain these engines, many accessories remain in regular demand. Items such as fuel pumps, oil pumps, starters, generators, engine controls, mounts, harnesses, and various sensors still play a critical role in the operation of this series.
This model is based on the earlier Citation S/II but features a longer fuselage and an improved interior layout. The cabin provides more usable space with seating arranged in a club configuration and additional chairs throughout. For our customers, cabin components often offer excellent value. Seats, sidewalls, trim pieces, oxygen equipment, interior panels, cabinet structures, and lavatory hardware remain popular with refurbishment shops and operators who are keeping the Citation 560 series updated.
In the cockpit, the Citation V was the first in its family to include an electronic flight instrument system as standard equipment on the captain's side. Although modern jets use more advanced displays, the avionics in this aircraft still rely on replaceable components that remain essential for ongoing support. Units related to autopilot, navigation, communication, data processing, and flight indication continue to be requested frequently throughout the industry.
We will recover parts and components from EVERY system on this airplane...

Cessna Citation V
Cessna also made meaningful updates to the aircraft’s systems. Pneumatic deicing boots replaced the previous fluid-based system and helped reduce weight and simplify upkeep. The horizontal stabilizer was refined to accommodate increased thrust levels. As a result, major surface components such as leading edges, stabilizer assemblies, flight controls, actuators, and deicing equipment remain valuable to operators who want to maintain consistent handling and performance.
The Citation V is well known for its dependable landing gear and hydraulic systems. Even before later improvements seen in the Encore models, the aircraft already featured a strong and serviceable gear design. Components such as main and nose gear assemblies, actuators, struts, doors, brakes, and steering parts are still widely used across the fleet. These items are often needed by maintenance facilities and continue to show strong demand in the parts market.
